About The Founder

I’m Tanushree. I am a 28 year old New York City native who spends a lot of time contemplating the Desi diaspora in small pockets of the world. My perfect world is one in which Desis everywhere feel safe and comfortable being open and honest about their wellbeing. I think that in this time starved, body/habit policing culture, being you is a constant battle and happiness is a rebellion in itself. My dream is for Desis everywhere to feel empowered enough to speak up and out for themselves and to stop generational trauma with millennials. My dream is also a world full of fusion Desi food. I’m honestly really good with priorities.

Some of my hobbies and interests include art, swimming, animals, reading, math, engineering, laughing at absurd horoscopes, resisting software updates, using other people’s names to spell my own name, making toenail sculptures… whoa, that sentence really got away from me.

I am an engineer and a designer by training, and an educator by profession. I am also an accomplished one-handed-grocery-bag-carrier by training. Like, you don’t even know.
