Positions

Lychee Advice column writer

Lychee is a platform for South Asians and South Asian Americans to seek and give advice through a monthly publication of an advice column. For Lychee, we are seeking talented writers who are interested in writing about cultural experiences and issues related to identity, dating and relationships, and navigating life as a South Asian in America.

We are seeking undergraduate and/or graduate student writers who can commit 5-10 hours per week to put together responses to people asking questions to Lychee. This is a monthly publication requiring the writer to produce 1-2 responses per week. 

This is an unpaid, fully remote position suitable for students currently enrolled in an undergraduate and/or graduate program seeking to gain hands-on experience in creative writing.

Requirements

  • Must be a student enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate program

  • Can work remotely for 5-10 hours per week

Social Media Lead

The Social Media Lead is responsible for crafting online content, engagement strategies, and day-to-day management of all social media execution, tracking and reporting on Instagram.
Understanding the content and brand objectives set by the leadership team, the Social Media Lead will ensure that social content aligns in tone, context, and addresses overall platform goals.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Founder, Communications, and Creative Lead to develop monthly content plans and manage day-to-day content for The Desi Condition social channels.

  • Craft monthly content that is original and creates authentic ways to engage our community online and scale our reach.

  • Promote The Desi Condition content and community moments

  • Ensure The Desi Condition visual brand is reflected throughout Instagram page

  • Develop monthly reports on social media performance and a plan that adheres to the learned insights and recommendations to continually scale our audience.

  • Consistently engage with followers and ideal community members
